SPACE guide

Five questions to ask after the day’s reading. Not every passage has all five; write down what you find.

  1. Sin to confessIs there a sin this passage shows me that I need to confess and turn from?
  2. Promise to claimIs there a promise from God that I can hold on to?
  3. Action to avoidIs there an attitude or action I should stay away from?
  4. Command to obeyIs there a command I need to obey?
  5. Example to followIs there someone here whose example, good or bad, I can learn from?

How to use it

  1. Pray first. Ask God to speak to you through His Word.
  2. Read the day’s passages slowly. Note the verse that stands out.
  3. Ask the five SPACE questions and write down what you find.
  4. Close with a short prayer in your own words.
